Welcome to my website! My name is Julie and I'm glad you're interested in knowing more about the Julz' Jewelry Collection.
I am the artist who created all the jewelry you will find listed on this website. Making handcrafted jewelry began as my childhood hobby and turned into a little home business when I was in my early 20's. I had much passion for designing my jewelry and I loved it! However, it would only be for a time that I would be able to make my sparkling creations.
In 2007, I had an accident that lead to the amputation of my right arm. I was right-handed, so I’ve had to learn how to function daily as a leftie. I do not wear a prosthetic because I lost my elbow, too, which complicates matters further with regard to prosthetics. Instead, I’ve been learning how to live one-handed for the past 4 years.
As a result of my amputation, I am no longer able to make jewelry. It saddens me greatly, but I have discovered other rewarding activities that are more one-handed friendly. The jewelry making chapter in my life has ended, but I still have plenty of my unique jewelry from that chapter. None of my designs were ever duplicated, so they are all genuinely one-of-a-kind pieces.
I am a senior at Ashford University majoring in journalism. My other passion has always been writing non-fiction and my status as an amputee is irrelevant within journalism. I did have to learn to type with one hand, but I’m quite proficient as a one-handed typist now!
I hope you enjoy browsing through the Julz’ Jewelry Collection. Thank you very much for your interest in my handcrafted jewelry!!
